Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Scranton Township Cemetery near Scranton with Pastor Bob McKnight of the Scranton Church of Christ officiating. Read More	Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home Marion Valeria Ganoe, age 96, of Nipomo, California passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Scranton Township Cemetery near Scranton with Pastor Bob McKnight of the Scranton Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home of Glidden. Marion was born in St, Cloud, Minn on June 6, 1919. She was 96 and died peacefully at home on April 19 with family by her side holding her hand. She was the last daughter of Alfred Lund and Edith Ekstrom Lund. Marion was also the only one born in a hospital. Their family of 6 lived in Oak Park Minn in a lovely 2 story farmhouse. Marion and her sisters, May Irene, Marjorie and Edith enjoyed these years immensely. Marion’s parents raised their family in the Lutheran Church where Edith played the organ and Alfred sang in the choir. They also helped build their Church Building. When Marion was six they moved from the farm to outside of Chicago. She graduated from Lindbloom High School, Secretarial School and then Moody Bible Institute. Beginning in their teens the girls sang together as the “Lund Trio” with May Irene at the piano. It was during this time that Marion was asked to sing at the Baptist Church on Geneva, Ill and the fellow in charge of leading the singing was Don Ganoe. His Cousin, Ralph Ganoe, heard of the “Lund Trio” and when the service was over they drove the girls back to Chicago. About a year later Don and Marion along with Ralph and Marjorie were married. Ralph and Marjorie became missionaries and moved to Africa. Don and Marion lived on the Fox River in St Charles Ill after Don was discharged from the Army. Eventually, and after 2 children, they moved to San Diego where Marion worked for many years for the San Diego City Schools. Later they moved to Central California where Marion worked for Santa Maria High School as a secretary. Don and Marion instilled in their family the importance of putting the Lord first and living your life with eternity’s values in view. Marion was an amazing prayer warrior and loved the Lord with all her heart.
