Description	:	Marjorie Corrine Miller, 89 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes. Marjorie was born December 4, 1920 at Funk, Nebraska, the eldest of three children born to David and Naemi (Akerson) Erickson. Marjorie received her education from Holdrege Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1937. Following her education, she was employed by Doctors Macolm D. Wilcox and Robert P. Read More	Marjorie Corrine Miller, 89 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes. Marjorie was born December 4, 1920 at Funk, Nebraska, the eldest of three children born to David and Naemi (Akerson) Erickson. Marjorie received her education from Holdrege Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1937. Following her education, she was employed by Doctors Macolm D. Wilcox and Robert P. (Bob) Best in Holdrege prior to her marriage. On February 14, 1940, Marjorie was united in marriage to J. Wesley Miller at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege and to this union two daughters were born: Connie and Sheila. Wesley and Marjorie purchased Holdrege Floral and Greenhouses from J.E. Charlson in 1945 and continued to operate the business until 1969. At that time they retained the nursery and landscaping business and began a pivot irrigation business. They also farmed and had residential rentals. In the 1970's, Wes and Marjorie sold the irrigation business but continued to work the nursery until retirement in 1995. On March 14, 2000, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wes. Marjorie worked closely with her husband, Wes, in all their businesses through the years. She was a beloved wife and partner. She was also a wonderful and caring mother, a loving grandmother and great friend to many. She enjoyed entertaining especially at family gatherings and loved to cook for her grandchildren when they were growing up. She was a nurturing and appreciative person who truly listened to others and had the capacity to offer helpful and sensible solutions. She cared deeply about people and issues of the day, and had an appreciation for the unvarnished truth. Marge appreciated the beauty in life and found ways to stay connected to God and to others to the end even when it was the most challenging. She looked at life's challenges as hurdles and always managed a way over or around the problem to continue doing the things that mattered most. She was confirmed at Fridhem Lutheran Church and a long time member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege, NE. Marjorie leaves to mourn her passing her daughters: Connie Schuster and her husband, Larry of Bonita Springs, Florida, Sheila Tringe and her husband, William of Holdrege; grandchildren: Nancy Reiss Ferguson and her husband, Jim Ferguson of Naperville, Illinois, Sandra Velez of Cape Coral, Florida, Joseph Tringe and his wife, Susannah of Walnut Creek, CA, James Tringe and his wife, Heidi of Montpelier, VT, Michael Tringe of Los Angeles, CA, and Kristin Mollet and her husband, Brad of Washington, DC; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Johnson and her husband, Floyd of Fort Collins, Colo.; sister-in-law, Eileen Schrock of Holdrege; and a host of relatives and friends. Besides her husband, Wes and her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Donald Dean Erickson in infancy; brothers-in-law: Sam Schrock, Jr., Stanley Miller and his wife, Alpha and sister-in-law, Lucille Holen and her husband, Kenneth.
