Graveside services will be held 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in Canby Cemetery, rural Adair County. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com. Marjorie was born April 22, 1922 in Riverton, Iowa to Kimber Cleaver and Maude Irene Spooner Shull. She grew up in Riverton and graduated from Riverton High School with the class of 1939. She attended Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to LeRoy George Reason on August 21, 1941 at the United Methodist Church in Riverton and together they became the proud parents of four children, Connie, Kimber, Dwight and Lennis. Marjorie and LeRoy moved to Dallas Center where they opened the first feed store in Dallas County, Iowa selling Wayne's Feed, but shortly after, LeRoy was called away to active duty with the military. After his return they immediately reopened the feed store and started Cackle Castle poultry farm where they raised over 35, 000 chickens and contracted eggs to the Hy-Line Egg Company. After the sell of their businesses, they moved to a farm outside of Menlo to raise their children. Marjorie also worked at the Highway Café, Perry Hospital and for over 30 years as a dietician at Mercy medical Center. Traveling brought Marjorie and LeRoy great joy, whether it was for business or pleasure they never turned down the opportunity to go. She also enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, cooking, baking, colleting coins and stamps, but most of all she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kimber and Maude Shull, her beloved husband, LeRoy in 2004, two brothers, Earl and Ben Shull and one grandson, Dan Reason. Marjorie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Connie Snyder of Ankeny, Kimber Reason of Stuart , Dwight Reason of Winterset and Lennis Reason of Selah, Washington; siblings, Bob and Harold Shull both of Riverton, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren all of whom will miss her greatly.
