Wanstedt, age 91, of Spearfish, SD formerly of Lemmon, SD will be held at 2:00 p.m. MT on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Prince of Peace Chapel of the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon. Pastor Florence Hoff will officiate with burial in the Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon. Following the burial, a "Come and Go Tea" will be held at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home. Marjorie E. Beals was born May 26, 1919 to George D. and Rebecca (Dewey) Beals, at Ipswich, SD. She attended elementary school in Ipswich until 1931 when the family moved to Lemmon, SD. She finished grade school and graduated from Lemmon High School in 1937. Marge was very active in high school, taking part in most activities. She played the baritone horn in the band and received a Superior rating all four years. She was also a charter member of the National Honor Society. Following graduation she worked two years at Lemmon High School as secretary to the Superintendent. The next three years she worked for J.C. Penny Co. as a bookkeeper and clerk. During this time she continued to play the Baritone horn with the City Band. Marge then moved to Fort Meade, SD and worked in the Headquarters Dept. as a clerk-typist. While there she met Albert H. Bratzel of Hebron, ND and they were married on April 20, 1943 at the Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, SD. They lived at his postings in Lebanon, Pa and Boston, MA until Al shipped overseas. She then returned to Lemmon where she worked for the Soil Conservation Service until World War II was over. Al finished Barber School and they permanently made Lemmon their home. She then worked at A & H Auto as a bookkeeper until 1952 when they welcomed a new son, Timothy Allen and in 1954, David Robert was born. While the boys were growing, she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, as Junior High Youth Leader of the Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder, Treasurer for several years and on the Church Guild. Marge was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She also enjoyed her many friends at social events, card parties and at Mr. and Mrs. Club. Al passed away in 1971 and in 1979 she married Arthur P. Lillegaard of Keldron, SD. Arthur passed away in 1983. On January 20, 1998 she was married to Norman Wanstedt of Keldron, SD and they moved to Piedmont, SD. In 2001 they moved to Spearfish to make their home. Norman passed away on October 6, 2008 and Marge continued to live in Spearfish. Marjorie passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care in Belle Fourche, SD. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Joan Bratzel, Exshaw, Alberta, Canada and David and Susan Bratzel, West Richland, WA; two grandsons, Shaun Bratzel and Graham Bratzel; two granddaughters, Sheena Thomas and Iona Bratzel; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Beals, Grand Junction, CO and Alvena Campbell, Belle Fourche, SD; and one brother-in-law, Reuben Hoffman, Spearfish, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three husbands, Albert Bratzel, Arthur Lillegaard and Norman Wanstedt; one sister, Ruth Hoffman; and three brothers, Cecil, Harry and Robert Beals. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday, all at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.
