Description	:	Marjorie Funke, 85, of rural Clemons, died early Monday morning, August 1, in the house she was born in with her loving family at her side. She was assisted in these last days by the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 6, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Read More	Marjorie Funke, 85, of rural Clemons, died early Monday morning, August 1, in the house she was born in with her loving family at her side. She was assisted in these last days by the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 6, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Born Marjorie Easton on August 12, 1925, at home north of Clemons, she was the second child born to Richard and Alice Winifred (Linn) Easton. She graduated from and was Salutorian of the Clemons High School's Class of 1942. On April 12, 1943, she was united in marriage to Harold Funke in Unionville, MO. They made their home in State Center and later moved to the farm she called home for 78 years. Marjorie was a member of the Clemons United Church of Christ, the Women's Fellowship of the church and the You-Go-I-Go Club. She was passionate about farming and enjoyed gardening, canning and traveling, appreciated music and loved her family. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Cheryl (Charlie) Brown of Marshalltown, Jim Funke of rural Clemons, Randy Funke of St. Anthony, Brian "Buzz" (Becky) Funke of Nevada, and Cindy Funke of Zearing; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and three siblings: Eleanor Norman of Bothell, Washington, Roger (Imy) Easton of Boulder, CO, and Kissy Waller of Kalispell, Montana, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and the Funke family. In death, she rejoined her parents, her daughter Bobbi Bartlett, husband Harold (1992). Funeral services for Marjorie Funke 86, and Jim Funke, 50, both of Clemons, were held Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Harlan Nuss officiating. Marjorie was laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens and Jim was laid to rest in the Biven's Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chad Halverson, Wade Halverson, Jason Funke, Jon Snyder, Les Westphal, Alissa Snyder, Jay Klemme, Ron Hinders, John Paper, Duane Davis, Stan Borton, and Nick Patten. Honorary Pallbearers were Matt Funke, Michaela Funke, Tracy Westphal, Trisha Bartlett, Tracy Lonychan, Lindsey Halverson and Jullissa Halverson. Groups from the Iowa River Hospice, Clemons United Church of Christ, Farm Service of Nevada and West Marshall High School Classmates were in attendance.
