Earl Jackson Jr. Married Oct 1, 1938 ∼Marjorie Elaine Winters was born in Baldwin City, Kansas during November of 1919. She lived the typical small town life and graduated from Haven high school in 1936. She married her husband Omar Earl Jackson Jr. on October 1st 1938. Marjorie loved to share the story of their wedding with relatives. She said that they filled the car with gas and drove until it only had half a tank. They arrived in Anthony, Kansas and decided to get married there at the Harper county courthouse. After their brief ceremony, they turned around and drove back home. In 1939, they welcomed their only daughter, Joyce Anne, into the world. Soon to follow were their other three children; William “Bill” Dean born in 1942, Kenneth Leroy in 1945, and Larry Keith born in 1947. Marjorie’s husband worked at the oil refinery in El Dorado and they spent a short while living there. Omar decided he would rather raise his children in a smaller town setting, so they moved to Rosalia. Marjorie was a homemaker and raised the children while her husband was away at work. She loved to cook and enjoyed gardening. Their home was always surrounded by beautiful flowers. Marjorie was an extremely crafty woman that enjoyed crocheting, sewing, sculpting, and ceramics. She would also spend time with women from the church she attended in her free time. The women would get together and talk as they did crafts and quilted. When her husband passed away in 1976, she moved back to El Dorado where she lived out the remainder of her life.
