Description	:	Marjorie Ellen Carroll was born 15 Nov 1909 in Beach, Golden Valley Co., ND to Harvey John Carroll and Clara Henrietta Brase. At an early age she moved with her parents to a farm northwest of Hettinger. She grew up and attended grade school, and then graduated from Hettinger, High School and then went to Dickinson State College. They lived on a farm most of thier married life until ill... Read More	Marjorie Ellen Carroll was born 15 Nov 1909 in Beach, Golden Valley Co., ND to Harvey John Carroll and Clara Henrietta Brase. At an early age she moved with her parents to a farm northwest of Hettinger. She grew up and attended grade school, and then graduated from Hettinger, High School and then went to Dickinson State College. She taught school for several years in country schools before and after her marriage. Marjorie was married to Hiram Gehard (Harley) Erickson on 29 Jan 1938 at Bowman, ND. They lived on a farm most of thier married life until ill health forced them to retire. They moved to Hettinger in 1975 where they resided until the time of her death. Marge was a member of Hettinger Lutheran Church where she was Sunday School Superintendent for many years, taught Sunday School, Bethel classes and held various offices in the church. She was an active member of the Farmers Union. Marjorie died 2 Mar 1980 at the age of 70 in Hettinger, ND, and is buried in the Hettinger Cemetery. Marjorie was survived by her husband, Harley, two brothers, Earl (Mary Lou) Carroll, and Verne (Doris) Carroll, both of Hettinger; three sisters, Wanda Gravning, Reva (Jerome) Qualley, of Hettinger, Lois (Erwin) Kenitzer of Bucyrus, ND, 28 nieces and nephews, 38 great nieces and nephews, and one great, great, nephew, also survive her. She was preceded in death by here parents, and one brother, Donald Carroll. Marjorie wrote the history of her life before she passed. She was co-editor the published book "Prairie Pioneers" and also co-editor of a new book published of the second generation.
