Friends and relatives of Marjorie called from 2 to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa, where a wake service was held at 1:30 p.m. Services for Marjorie were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Epworth, Iowa with Rev. Michael Schueller presiding and Msgr. Lyle Wilgenbusch concelebrating. Eucharistic Ministers were Deacon Jim Kean and Sr. Maureen Fury, BVM. Lectors were Steve Wilgenbusch and Judy McCarthy. Placing of the pall was done by Dennis Zimmer, Rodney Hodgson, Kristi Klein, and Scott Hodgson. Giftbearers were Taylor Then, Ethan klein, Olivia Hodgson, Gage Zenz and Kaelyn Morrow. Burial was held at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Epworth, Iowa. asketbearers for Marjorie were Mike Wessels, Gary Wilgenbusch, Kevin Connolly, Ed Wilgenbusch, Eric Wilgenbusch, Egan Wilgenbusch, Jeff Hird and Abby Scholl. Marjorie was born August 9, 1951 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Clarence "Shorty" and Mitilda "Tillie" (Hannan) Wilgenbusch. She graduated from Western Dubuque High School in Epworth, Iowa in 1969, and received her LPN at St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1970 and received her RN degree from NICC, in Peosta, IA. On November 7, 2003 she was united in marriage to Dennis Zimmer at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Dubuque, IA. She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish. Marjorie enjoyed spending her time with her husband, family and especially her grandchildren and traveling. She worked at Mount Carmel –Sisters of Charity BVM as a Nurse for 27 years. She truly loved her work and had very strong faith in working with the Sisters. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Zimmer of Epworth, IA; three children, Rodney Hodgson of Shawano, WI, Kristi (Chris) Klein of Byron, MN, and Scott (Jen) Hodgson of Epworth, IA; three step children, Tori (Brian) Morrow of Muskego, WI, Cheri (Keith) Zenz of Potosi, WI, and Kim (Todd) Then of Epworth, IA; 14 grandchildren and one grandchild on the way; five sibilings, Doris Wessels of Epworth, IA, Cheryl (Bob) Hird of Dubuque, IA, Tom (Lavonne) Wilgenbusch, Dan (Connie) Wilgenbusch both of Epworth, IA and Steve (Janet) Wilgenbusch of Antioch, TN; the father of her children, Bob Hodgson of Dyersville, IA, one sister-in-law, Kay Wilgenbusch of Epworth, IA, one brother-in-law, Ronnie Connolly of Dubuque, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister Mary Connolly; one brother, Willie Wilgenbusch; one granddaughter, Ava Hodgson; and one brother-in-law, Philip Wessels.
