Read More	Marjorie Kathleen Smick (February 15, 1924 - September 5, 2010 Marjorie Kathleen Smick passed away Sunday, September 5th due to complications of a stroke that she had valiantly dealt with the past five years and from, in her own words, "being too darn old". Marge lived most of her adult life in St. John, Washington, becoming active in various endeavors. She served as the director of the Whitman County Heart Assn. for over twenty years, the St. John Hospital Guild and as the secretary/ treasurer of her love and passion, the St. John Golf Club. Marge's love for golf was balanced by her many hobbies and crafts as well as fixing anything around the house that her husband couldn't. She organized many golf tournaments and was a "Club Champion" on numerous occasions. Marjorie was born February 15th, 1924 in Kelso, Washington to Anders and Alice Lagreide. She spent her childhood in the Seattle area graduating from Roosevelt High School. Upon her high school completion, she moved on to Walla Walla College where she met a strapping young man and aspiring pilot, Bryant L. Smick. They spent the next 68 years together farming, traveling, fiercely competing against each other on the golf course and raising their children Janet (Steve) Ashworth, St. John, Gary (Char) Smick of Mukilteo and Sky (Lisa) of Vancouver WA. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mildred and son in law, Lloyd Pike. She took great pride in her 8 grandchildren and 10 great grand children. She is survived by her husband, Bryant, of St. John and her children and grandchildren. In Marjorie's memory, a celebration of her life will be held at the St. John Community Building on Monday, Sept. 13th at 12:00 Noon with food being provided by Memorable Events. A private family interment will be held earlier that morning. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any remembrances be made to the St. John Golf and Country Club.
