A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Rockwell with Reverend John Tilp officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, rural Thornton, at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 26, with a scriptural wake service at 7:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart School in Rockwell. Marjorie, one of ten children, was born on November 5, 1942 to Sherman and Beatrice (Cahalan) Swenson in Swaledale, IA where she grew up and attended school. She was united in marriage to John Fjone on August 5, 1959 in Clear Lake, IA. After their marriage the couple moved to John's farm where they farmed and raised their three children until 1982 and then moved to their present home. Over the next several years, Marjorie enjoyed working at various jobs and spent the last seven years employed with Larson Door Company. She also enjoyed many family camping and horseback riding trips. She was a cheering grandmother at numerous sports activities with her many grandchildren. Spending time with family was her lifelong priority. She also enjoyed traveling and caring for her flowers, yard and home. Marjorie is survived by her husband, John of Thornton; children Christy Baxter of Swaledale, Brenda (Rob) Kuhlemeier of Rockwell, and Richard (Juli) Fjone of Swaldale. Grandchildren Tim, Holly, and Cody Baxter, Matthew, Emily, Josi, and Michael Fjone, Mitchell and Kelsey Kuhlemeier and great granddaughter Keelee Sheriff. Sisters, Mary Coyle of Ventura, Doris Boehnke of Ventura, Dorothy (Charlie) Callahan of Rockwell, and Victoria Swenson of Clear Lake. Brothers, Don (Marge) Swenson of Swaledale, Dean (Norma Jean) Swenson of Van Horne, IA, Larry (Cleo) Swenson of Rockwell, and John (Peggy) Swenson of Garland, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Beatrice, an infant sister Donella, and two brothers in law Donald Coyle and Harold Boehnke.
