Read More	Marjorie Rose Shors, 91, passed away October 9, 2011 with her loving family at her side. She was born in 1920 in Anaheim, CA, daughter of the late Carl and Anna (Von Essen) Heyne, and raised on a hard-working farm in north-central Nebraska. Her parents died when she was young. Because of this and her German genes, she learned early on to be an independent person with an extraordinary intellect and exuberance for life. She met Edwin Wallace Shors on a blind date and married him not long after. They traveled and lived all over the country including Ohio, New Jersey, Alabama, California; they even lived in Belgium. However, Joliet and the Chicago area were always home. Ed and Marge were married for over 50 years. Because of their close relationship and admirable daily life, the family referred to them affectionately as "Ozzie and Harriet." After Ed died in 2001, Marjorie moved from Joliet to Jacksonville to be close to her eldest daughter, Marcia Kay Winters. In Florida, Marge met and cultivated a whole new set of dear friends at her home in the Carriage Club. With her supreme organizational and social skills, she quickly became the representative for her neighborhood. In the past few years, she continued to express her zeal for life with journeys to Israel and Greece with her son Clay and second daughter Tracey. Marjorie was the matriarch of the Shors family. She was the one person who everyone could count on to be there in times of need but also in every day life. She kept the family and all her friends informed by writing long longhand letters and more recently e-mails to her many friends and relatives. She loved surfing the Internet for information and even had a Facebook page. She was a true computer geek. An outspoken progressive, she kept pace with all the current events of the world by watching CNN and even Fox. Her family was very important to her and she kept close tabs on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, always encouraging them to "do the right thing." Marjorie Rose was an inspiration to all she met. Her elder daughter Marcia Kay Winters passed in 2010 and is survived by her husband Gerald Winters. The memories of Marjorie Rose Shors and her amazing life of compassion and love live on in those she bore and all those she touched.
