Mark was born May 28, 1955 in Milbank, South Dakota, the son of Orval and Ruth(Braley) Liebing. Mark grew up in Brookings and graduated from Brookings High School in 1972. Mark attended South Dakota State University for a time after this, but moved to Mesa, Arizona with his parents to help with his father who was fighting cancer at the time. After his father’s death the family returned to Brookings and Mark finished his degree in Business from SDSU. Mark has worked at Walmart in Brookings since it first opened. Mark was a hard worker and made many friends with his coworkers there. While working at Walmart, Mark met his wife, Amy, whom he married on September 23, 1995. Since then, Mark has prided himself on taking care of his two daughters, Taylor and Samantha. As his mother’s health was failing Mark and his family aided in her caretaking. Mark has always been especially close to his family. He often enjoyed fishing trips with his brothers Dan and Terry. Since his retirement, he was able to spend much more time with his family and doing what he loved.
