Description	:	Mark E. Wieck, 59, of Calamus, died early Saturday morning, October 25, 2014 at Clarrisa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Mark Edward Wieck was born August 12, 1955 in DeWitt, to Wesley and Janice (Rathje) Wieck. He was a 1973 graduate of Calamus High School. In July of that year, Mark began working for DeWitt Electric, and retired as a licensed electrician in May of 2013 following 40 years of service. Mark Edward Wieck was born August 12, 1955 in DeWitt, to Wesley and Janice (Rathje) Wieck. He was a 1973 graduate of Calamus High School. In July of that year, Mark began working for DeWitt Electric, and retired as a licensed electrician in May of 2013 following 40 years of service. On June 13, 1997, he was united in marriage to Shelley Kuehn. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound. Mark loved Indy and NASCAR racing. He enjoyed skiing, tinkering in the shop and took great pride caring for his lawn. Surviving are his wife, Shelley; his father, Wesley Wieck of Calamus; his mother-in-law, Beverly Kuehn of DeWitt; a brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Karna Wieck of Coralville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Becky and Russ Townsend of DeWitt and Jim and Jennifer Kuehn of Underwood; nieces and nephews, Leah Wieck, Justin (Laura) Wieck and Abby (Brent) Yotty, Brad (Bree) Townsend and Mark Townsend and Tabitha Kuehn and Samantha Kuehn; eight great-nephews and a great-niece; and his cocker spaniel, Bailey. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Janice, his step-mother, Gertrude and his father-in-law, Jim Kuehn. The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 27. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 28 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound. The Rev. Steven Anderson will officiate with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, DeWitt. Pallbearers will be Jim Sparks, Mike Hughes, Donnie Bousselot, Neil Mason, Curt Daniels, Gary Moore, Gerry Wulf and Kenny Rogis. (Source: Schultz Funeral Home)
