Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 2, at Miller West Funeral Chapel, 6200 W. 41st Street, with interment immediately following the service at Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Family and friends are then invited back to Miller West Funeral Chapel following the burial ceremony for a light lunch and fellowship. Mark Timothy Dahmen was born January 5, 1963, to John and Marna (Eggers) Dahmen, the second of six children. He was reborn through the waters of Holy Baptism on January 29, 1963. Having received instruction in the Christian faith in accordance with the Lord's bidding, Mark gave witness to this faith before the congregation of Memorial Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, at his Confirmation on June 12, 1977. He grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1981. While in high school he was extremely active in track and cross country and earned many medals and accolades for his athletic performance. Following graduation from high school, Mark enlisted in the South Dakota Army National Guard and continued his service with the US Army Reserve until 1987. Mark also attended SDSU in Brookings, SD. Mark worked in several industries including manufacturing, construction, and fast food. He was especially skilled in the fast food industry where he held supervisory roles at a variety of restaurants. He was passionate about his job and excelled at training new staff and truly enjoyed the opportunity to serve numerous customers over the years. Mark was a lifelong member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls where he served over the years as an usher. Grateful for having shared his life are his son, John Dahmen, Twin Cities, MN; a brother, Timothy Dahmen and his wife, Toni, Sioux Falls, SD; four sisters, Karen Moore and her husband, Bernie, Crooks, SD, Karla O'Neal, Sioux Falls, SD, Kari DeBoer and her husband, Mark, Adrian, MN, Kristine Troester and her husband, Russ, Ord, NE; eight nephews and seven nieces; and host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
