Description	:	On May 10, 1957, Arnold and Ruth (Pothoven) Ozinga gave birth to their fourth child, Marla Jean, at Oskaloosa, Iowa. She attended the Peoria Christian School in Peoria, Iowa and graduated from Pella Christian High School in Pella, Iowa with the Class of 1975. Marla sought employment at various places and found her most fulfillment while living in Des Moines, Iowa. She became affiliated with Passageway there and was a valued, respected member. Read More	On May 10, 1957, Arnold and Ruth (Pothoven) Ozinga gave birth to their fourth child, Marla Jean, at Oskaloosa, Iowa. She attended the Peoria Christian School in Peoria, Iowa and graduated from Pella Christian High School in Pella, Iowa with the Class of 1975. Marla sought employment at various places and found her most fulfillment while living in Des Moines, Iowa. She became affiliated with Passageway there and was a valued, respected member. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching and doing puzzles. She loved children and had a passion for animals. She was a trustworthy, faithful friend to her family and her quiet demeanor was reflected by her non-judgmental attitude. On Sunday, September 27, 2015, Marla succumbed to her physical ailments at her residence in Des Moines at the age of 58 years. Marla is survived by her mother, Ruth Ozinga, of Pella; her brother, Dale E. Ozinga and his wife, Catherine, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; her two sisters: Kathleen J. and her husband, Irvin Rozenboom of Altoona, Iowa, Leanne R. and her husband, John Hogan of Montrose, Colorado; and her nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored. Marla was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Lee Ozinga, who died in infancy in 1953; her father, Arnold Ozinga, on April 3, 2011; her maternal grandparents, John and Golda (Tysseling) Pothoven and her paternal grandparents, William and Cornelia (Nieuwsma) Ozinga. Marla was baptized and made profession of her faith at the Peoria Christian Reformed Church in Peoria, Iowa. She was currently attending and affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Peoria Christian Reformed Church, Peoria, Iowa Interment will follow in the Peoria Cemetery at Peoria, Iowa Visitation will begin Wednesday afternoon at Van Dyk- Duven Funeral Home where the family will be present Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to Passage Way in Des Moines, Iowa.
