Description	:	Marlene A. Foglesong, 77, of Grand Island, formerly of Kearney, died of Alzheimer's disease Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Golden Living Center-Grand Island Lakeview. Marlene was born Jan. 4, 1935, in Minden to Martin and Sena (Tomsen) Jorgensen. In 1954, she married Richard "Dick" Hansen. He died in 1962. On Aug. 30, 1965, she married Robert "Bob" Foglesong. He died in 2001. Survivors are: son, Sam Foglesong and his wife, Lisa, of Grand Island; daughters, Tara Foglesong of Grand Island; grandchildren, Meggan Coghill and her husband, Curt, of Omaha, McKenzie Roeder and Kaiti George and her husband, Tom, all of Kearney, and Abbey and Jack Foglesong, both of Grand Island; and son-in-law, Dan Roeder of Kearney. Marlene grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1952. Marlene and Dick farmed near Norman. She and Bob made their home and raised their family in Kearney. Marlene managed the bookwork for Bob's painting business and was active in the farming operation near Minden. She was an avid Nebraska football fan and loved attending the games. Marlene was a very involved member of First Lutheran Church in Kearney. She was a great cook and was very meticulous about everything she did. Over the years, Marlene volunteered many hours for various organizations in the Kearney area. Marlene loved her family, was so proud of her grandkids and was a caregiver all her life. Marlene was also a member of HATS - Helping Another to Smile. In addition to: husbands, she was preceded in death by: daughter, Jill. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery, Minden, NE.
