Rev. O. F. Pittack officiating. Burial was at Grace Hill Cemetery. Marlene, who would have been 12, on January 19, had been hospitalized since Friday. She died Monday following a two-week illness. She had strep throat infection and it was discovered that she was also suffering from diabetes. She was born January 19, 1946, and was in the 6th grade at the Petry rural school in Union County. She was a member of the junior choir of Trinity Lutheran Chruch here and a pupil in its Sunday school. The rural school she attended was closed Wednesday as the pupils and their teacher attended the funeral. Members of the confirmation class of her brother, James acted as pallbearers. Survivors besides her parents include two brothers, James and Thomas, and a sister Loraine, all at home, and the materal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bultman of Hawarden.
