Married Laurel Belz, December 27, 1968 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Stanton. Member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Stanton, NE; served as an Elder. Was a school board member and served on the Educational Service Unit 8 Board. After college he taught science and math at Battle Creek from 1962 to 1964, Stanton from 1964 to 1969. He received the Mu Epsilon Nu Henzlic Award for Outstanding Male Teacher in Nebraska in 1967. Marles graduated from Fisk University in Nashville, TN with a Masters degree in 1970. He taught science and math in Schuyler 1970 to 1976, David City two years. He worked for Sherwood Medical (Tyco) 20 years and retired in 1999. Survivors include wife Laurel Robins, Stanton, NE; two sons, Jonathan and wife Lauren Robins, Elkhorn, NE, Nicholas Robins, Norfolk; two sisters Janeice Heeckt, High Bridge, NJ, Sharon Christiansen, Bedford, TX. Preceded in death by his parents.
