Read More	Marlys Merdell Rodemeyer, 90, died on Monday, October 16, 2017, at The Waters Senior Center in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Marlys was born on August 25, 1927, to Ernest and Amanda (Rathmann) Rodemeyer, on her parents' farm southwest of Hampton. She was baptized on September 25, 1927, and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer in 1942, by Pastor E.L. Runge. Marlys graduated from Hampton High School, with the class of 1946. After graduation, she worked as the secretary to the school principle at Hampton High School. She then left Hampton and started the life she loved of traveling. Marlys spent several years living and working in Santa Barbara, California, and also in Hawaii for some time. She moved to Minneapolis, where she became a secretary for General Mills Company and worked there for thirty years. When she retired, she continued to do more traveling. As the years went on, her pride and joy became her seven nieces and nephews: Jeff (Peg) Rodemeyer, their three children and seven grandchildren; Delana (George) Folz; Mike Rodemeyer; Lynn Mahncke; Brian (Sandy) Rodemeyer, their two children and five grandchildren; Michele (Steve) Pickel, their two children and three grandchildren; and Brad (Nancy) Rodemeyer, their five children and two grandchildren. Besides her forty-five nieces and nephews, she is survived by her sister Verna Mahncke, brother Marvin W. and wife Patty and sister-in-law Marie Rodemeyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Arnold and wife Marian, brother Dale and wife Edna, brother-in-law Robert Mahncke, and her brother Wilbur in infancy. Marlys was a member of the Berea Lutheran Church in Minnesota.
