E. Hunt Died Tuesday Afternoon in Fremont Hospital. Burial Here Thursday. News reached here Tuesday afternoon of the death in the Richmond Hospital in Fremont, Neb., of Marshall E. Hunt, a resident of this city for the past thirty two years. Mr. Hunt had been in poor health for some time and three weeks ago went on ________ in the hope the change and a rest would prove beneficial. He visited his son, Emory, at Walthill and the latter prevailed upon him to enter the hospital at Fremont where he might receive the most skilled medical and nursing attention. He grew rapidly worse and the end came Tuesday afternoon at 1:20 p.m. Mrs. Hunt, who had been sent for, was with him in his last days. Death was due to uremic poisoning and pernicious anemia. Accompanied by his wife, son Emory and family, the body of Mr. Hunt reached Belle Plaine Wednesday morning and the funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 from Christ Methodist church of which he has been a member for the past forty years. Burial will be in Oak Hill. Marshall E. Hunt was a son of Hezekiah and Virginia Hunt and was born 1858, being at the time of his death on June 30th, aged 66 years, 10 months and 18 days. On January 15th, 1881, at Aledo, Ill., he was united in marriage to Miss Emma V. Jack, who survives. Of this union there were born three children, Emory of Walthill, Neb., Letha C., wife of F. M. Knable of Peoria, Ill., and Earl Hunt of Chicago, all of whom survive. There are three grandchildren, Emory Jr., and Bobbie Hunt and Nicola Bester. Mr. Hunt is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Nettie Watkins of Chicago, Ill. and two brothers, Albert [Allen] Hunt of Tampa Fla., and Martin Hunt. For twenty three years Mr. Hunt was in charge of the Belle Plaine Electric Co. Shortly after this plant was sold to the Iowa Railway and Light Co., Mr. Hunt left its service to go into business for himself and since has been in the battery business. In the years of his residence here, Mr. Hunt became widely known as an honorable and upright citizen, who could be depended upon, and held the confidence and esteem of all. He was in active business almost until the end, and as a consequence his death comes as a shock to his friends, as well as to the family to whom he had been a kind and devoted husband and father. Aside from his long membership in the Methodist church, he was a member of the Modern Woodmen, the W. O. W. and Royal Highlanders.
