Marshall was born in Boston, Mass. in 1927 and raised in Blandford. He was a son of Murray and Della (Publicover) Fleet. Marshall is remembered with love by his wife, Elizabeth; stepchildren, Robert Publicover (Elizabeth), Pamela Publicover (Peter) Brouwer. Fleet peacefully at home in Timberlea on Monday, September 21, 2015. Marshall was born in Boston, Mass. in 1927 and raised in Blandford. He was a son of Murray and Della (Publicover) Fleet. Marshall is remembered with love by his wife, Elizabeth; stepchildren, Robert Publicover (Elizabeth), Pamela Publicover (Peter) Brouwer. Predeceased by his first wife,Marion (Cooke), the mother of his children, Sharon (John) Buchanan, Debbie (Eric) Meisner and Della (Joao) Silveira. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Johnathan (Claudine) Kinnaird, Robbie Kinnaird (Deirdre), Angela Kinnaird (Isa); Michael Wilson, Tasha Fleet, Deanna Meisner (Leo), Charles (Gillian) Meisner, Raquel Silveira, Lauren Publicover, Veronica Publicover, Rachel Brouwer, Mitchell Brouwer; great-grandchildren, cousins, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Also predeceased by daughter, Wendy Wilson; son, Barry Fleet and sister, Gwendolyn Westhaver. Marshall was employed at Canadian Forces Base Shearwater for many years, where he was respected as a teacher and mentor. He was a life member of the C&PO'S Mess, C.F.B. Halifax as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Fairview Branch 142. Marshall was one of a kind: a unique character full of humour, generosity and a knack for repairing anything that needed repairing with ingenuity. He was an avid square dancer in his day and the president of the Tartan Twirlers and also had a love for music. Granddad could always be heard cheering for his grandchildren on the soccer field or basketball court. He was always there to offer a helping hand. Marshall took great pleasure in knowing his compassion for helping others has been passed down to his children and grandchildren. The family is sincerely grateful for the excellent and compassionate care received from Dr. P. Petropolis, Dr. G. Bailey, the Palliative Care team, VON and Northwood for their unsurpassed homecare during Marshall's courageous battle with cancer, in particular Taylor and Emily. Cremation has taken place; no visitation, as per Marshall's wishes. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 2, in St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 2553 St. Margaret's Bay Rd., Timberlea with a reception following in the church hall. Burial for family and close friends at 2 p.m., St. Barnabas Cemetery, Blandford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
