Description	:	Hosmer - The funeral service for Martha A. Jeschke, 85, of Hosmer and formerly of Roscoe, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Roscoe with Rev. Winfried Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gramm Funeral Home in Ipswich and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Martha was born Jan. 20, 1921, to Jacob and Lydia (Schumacher) Voegele near Roscoe, S.D. She graduated from Roscoe High School and later attended Northern State Teachers' College, where she attained her teaching certificate. She married Oscar Jeschke on Feb. 16, 1941. They moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1942 and then to Buffalo, N.Y. Oscar's love for farming brought them back to South Dakota. Martha began teaching in rural schools and continued until the mid-1950s. She later served on the Roscoe School Board. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roscoe, where she was able to share her love with music with others. She served as the choir director and as a church organist for many years. She loved to play the organ and would play for friends and family at any opportunity. Martha was also a member of St. Paul's Ladies Aide, where she shared her talent of baking and cooking. Her family fondly recalls her love of cooking and continues to prepare some of her favorite foods. She much enjoyed time spent with her family and especially all of her grandchildren. Martha died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital. Martha is survived by her daughter, Sharron (Harris) Swanson of Ipswich; sons: Curt (Sue) Jeschke of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Collin Jeschke of Omaha, Neb.; daughter, Tamara (Don) Neifer of Hosmer; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ramona (Harold) Markuson of Ipswich; and one brother, Burt (Ramona) Voegele of Watertown. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one grandson, and three sisters. Her grandsons will serve as casketbearers. Carol Schroeder will serve as organist and soloist.
