Description	:	Martha Amanda Fodness passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at the Canton Good Samaritan Center, Canton, SD. Funeral Services were held Monday, Sept. 12 at the Canton Lutheran Church with Pastor Tony Haglund officiating. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton. Pallbearers were: Greg Rollag, Troy Fodness, Harris Danielson, Larry Wenborne, David Stotyn, Gaylon Oakland, George Ahrndt. Honorary Pallbearers were: Rhonda Stotyn. Martha was born March 7, 1912, at Wakonda, SD, to Carl and Maggie (Shannahan) Larson. Martha was united in marriage to Palmer Fodness Feb. 22, 1934. They lived their entire married life in Canton where they raised two children, Karen and Marlo. Palmer passed away in 1968. Martha was in the restaurant business for 50 years with her twin sister, Marge Enstad, at Margie's Coffee Shop. She also was in food service at the Good Samaritan Center for 25 years. She had a special relationship with her twin sister, Marge, as they were known as the "Larson Twins." She was a member of Canton Lutheran Church, Canton Senior Citizen Center, American Legion Auxiliary, and the monthly birthday club. Martha enjoyed dancing, playing cards, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Karen Rollag, Carmichael, CA; daughter-in-law, Clarice (Tom) Fodness Nystrup, Akron; grandchildren: Rhonda (David) Stotyn, Greg (Kim) Rollag, and Troy (Diane) Fodness; great-grandchildren: Jacob and Kyle Stotyn, Justin and Alexis Rollag, and Nicholas and Andrew Fodness; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Palmer; son, Marlo; granddaughter, Joni; twin sister, Marge; brothers, Ralph and Clarence Larson; and son-in-law, Glenn Rollag.
