Description	:	MRS. JOHN JOHNSON Martha Barnes, daughter of Mrs, Thomas Barnes, was born near Monterey, Dec. 4, 1864. She spent the early years with her parents on the farm. She married to Mr. John Johnson, Nov. 19, 1885. To them were born seven children. The living are; Mrs. Susannah Arnold, Mrs. Allilian L. Walker, Warren Johnson, Mrs. Clarissa Benge, Walter Johnson. Read More	MRS. JOHN JOHNSON Martha Barnes, daughter of Mrs, Thomas Barnes, was born near Monterey, Dec. 4, 1864. She spent the early years with her parents on the farm. She married to Mr. John Johnson, Nov. 19, 1885. To them were born seven children. The living are; Mrs. Susannah Arnold, Mrs. Allilian L. Walker, Warren Johnson, Mrs. Clarissa Benge, Walter Johnson. Edna and Arthur died in infancy. Seven years ago they moved to Bloomfield to make their home. At that time Mrs. Johnson was a large woman, but since living here she has been afflicted most of the time. She has not been a sufferer as many have been but she had not sufficient strength to do even the little she might find to do. Through all of her sickness she had been uncomplaining and was willing for whatever was best to occur. A few weeks ago when she became noticably worse she was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Benge, where she has been given every care and consideration. But good nursing would not keep her here so she passed out of this world August 11, 1918, at the age of sixty-three years, eight months and seven days. She united with the Christian church at Monterey several years ago and has been a lover of her Lord and a worshiper of Him ever since. It was not so she could get away from her home much but she always spoke in such an interested way of the church and its work. She will be remembered by her kind disposition and her gentleness of character. She leaves her father and mother, her husband, five children, one brother and two sisters in this world and her one word to them would be if they could hear it, to live in this world in such a way that they would enter the gates into yhat abidiny city, the city of our God. Funeral services held at the Monterey Christian church, Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Geo. E. Purdy, pastor of the Bloomfield Christian church.
