MULLINS - Martha Ann Johnson, 98, of Summerville and formerly of Mullins, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at Johns Island Post Acute. She was born in Barnwell, South Carolina on July 4, 1921, a daughter of the late Clarendon Doll Black and the late Elizabeth Collins Black. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Martha worked all of her adult life to provide for her family and keep them together. She had a strong will that allowed her to live a long, full life. She was predeceased, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Bobby Johnson, a daughter, Annette Wacaster; a son, Oliver Eugene Johnson; a grandson, Russell Wacaster; a brother, Clarendon Hayes Black, and three sisters, Myrtis Sanders, Mildred Kirby, and Mary Black. Surviving Martha are a son, J. C. Owens (Linda) of Goose Creek; four daughters, Myra Hair (Bo) of Summerville, Johnnie Ann Sylvester (Bob) of Nashua, New Hampshire, Wanda Owens of Mullins and Melissa Carmichael (Terence) of Summerville; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Devotion Gardens in Mullins. - Meares Funeral Home
