Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Martha died Wednesday, January 11, at Prince of Peace Care Center, Ellendale. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday. Martha Bradke was born on March 11, 1910 to Edward and Louise (Reiman) Bradke at Barnard, SD. She grew up in Barnard and graduated from Barnard High School. Martha then attended Northern State Teacher’s College, receiving her teaching degree. She taught at various rural and public schools including Columbia and Roslyn, SD. She then taught in Sandpoint, ID for around 30 years until her retirement. Teaching brought Martha great joy and she truly loved the children she worked with. Martha married Henry (Hank) Meier on November 26, 1947 at Webster, SD. They lived in Aberdeen until 1956 when they moved to Sandpoint, Idaho. They then returned to Aberdeen in 1975. Hank died on December 17, 1985. Martha was a past member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Aberdeen. Martha loved the church. Grateful for having shared Martha’s life are her daughter, Hazel Edwards of Aberdeen, grandchildren, Raymond (Joan) Shatzka, of Post Falls, ID, Lorie Moritomo of Aberdeen, and Tawna (Russ) Kracman, of Marshfield, MO, great grandchildren, Raianna Shatzka, Christopher Kawp, Kari Hallett, Jessica Crawford, Tasha Kracman, Dana Kracman, Kaleb Kracman, and great grandchildren, Brandon Hallett, and Julianna Crawford. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Henry (Hank) Meier, her parents, Edward and Louise Bradke, her granddaughter, Schirleen Faye Schwabe, four brothers, Adolph Bradke, Paul Bradke, Gus Bradke, and Alfred Bradke, and her sister, Elsie Bradke.
