Huston was born May 7, 1880. She was married to William B. Clawson, July 18, 1899, at Geneva, Neb. To this union were born three children. Tuesday, August 31, 1948, at Hastings, Neb., aged 68 years, 3 months and 24 days. Mattie D. Huston was born May 7, 1880. She was married to William B. Clawson, July 18, 1899, at Geneva, Neb. To this union were born three children. Mrs. Clawson had been in ill health for some time, but endured her physical pain and suffering with great courage. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother and no task was too great if she could be of comfort to others. She is survived by her husband and one son, John T. Clawson of Geneva, and two daughters, Fern B. Harms of Longview, Wash., and Mildred M. Huff of Taft, Ore., six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, also one sister, Myrtle B. Johnson, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A daughter, Gertrude Irene, died in 1911. Mrs. Clawson was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Boston, Mass., and was a devoted Christian. Funeral services were held at the Hrubesky-Farmer Funeral Home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Friday, September 3, Rev. Ben F. Wallace officiated. Pallbearers were Charles Lightbody, Carl Tobiassen, Cecil Richards, Lawrence Peterson, Theodore Peterson and W. A. Stoldorf. Mrs. J. W. Hammond and Mrs. W. H. Hinkle sang, with Mrs. C. G. Hrubesky accompanist. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. Mrs. Harms and Mrs. Huff came for their mother's funeral. They had been here visiting home folk a couple of weeks and had been home only three days when word came of their mother's death. The Nebraska Signal 9 Sept. 1948 page 1.
