Sometime before 1984, her gravestone was moved to Buchanan Cemetery. There was some "construction and renovation" happening in that time span, and many grave stones were moved from the McLaughlin Cemetery to the Buchanan Cemetery. Martha was the wife of George McLaughlin (1773-1846). Martha was the mother of Nancy McLaughlin (b. 1805) who married John Benedict WISE. Martha also was the mother of George Washington McLaughlin (b. 1816) who married Rachel Hukill MITCHELL. Martha and her husband George sold land in Bourbon County, Kentucky, on November 1, 1830. They had purchased their first land in Jefferson County, Indiana, on April 27, 1830. George purchased 110 acres in Ripley County, Indiana, on 10 April 10, 1831. Their farm spanned the county boundary.
