While attending school at Bloomingdale, she became acquainted with John Harvey, with whom she was united in marriage Nov. 15, 1860. Died at Hollandsburg, Parke County, Ind. at the home of her daughter, Bertha B. Spencer, Jan. 31, 1891. She grew to womanhood in Orange Co. Those surviving are Allen E. of Gate, Oklahoma, Annetta Dickens at Kingman, Ind., George M. of Tacoma, Wash., and Bertha B. Spencer of Hollandsburg, Ind. Her husband died 10 years ago last Sunday, leaving her to walk life's pathway alone, and not alone, for Christ has been a companion and stay unto her. Aunt Martha as she was familiarly known, had been a Christian for years. Deeds never be she is gone, but her deeds of living service will still live. Her acts of kindness will be cherished as sweet mementoes in the lives of children who rise up and call her blessed, 4 sisters and 2 brothers will hold her in loving remembrance, and 12 grandchildren will also revere her memory. In the rearing of her family, thoughts of self seemed to be forgotten, and she devoted her time and strength to their welfare and happiness. She had been a sufferer for years, and for some months had been partially paralyzed. Pneumonia laid its strong grip upon her already wasted form some two weeks ago, and her suffering was intense so much that it resulted in unconsciousness the greater part of her sickness, yet in her conscious moments she was patient and submissive, leaving the testimony that she was prepared for the change. As the Death Angel hovered near, she peacefully and quietly slipped away to meet her Savior, leaving a record of 75 years, 5 months and 11 days to her loved ones, and a legacy of Christian love and abiding faith in God which is worth far more to them than gold, silver, or precious stones. ===================================
