Description	:	From Grandma Coon's Scrapbook Martha Walsh Dies Funeral services were held from St. John Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Monday for a lifelong resident of the community, Mrs. Jerome Walsh, who also had been active in the church for many years. She died at St. Joseph Mercy hospital in Waverly Friday, December 14, at the age of 86. Mrs. Walsh lived alone following the death of her husband some years ago but had been a resident of the Salisbury Baptist Home in Charles City for the past year. Read More	From Grandma Coon's Scrapbook Martha Walsh Dies Funeral services were held from St. John Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Monday for a lifelong resident of the community, Mrs. Jerome Walsh, who also had been active in the church for many years. She died at St. Joseph Mercy hospital in Waverly Friday, December 14, at the age of 86. Mrs. Walsh lived alone following the death of her husband some years ago but had been a resident of the Salisbury Baptist Home in Charles City for the past year. She was taken to the Waverly hospital just a few days before her death. Miss Ann Mussehl was organist, and Tom Conklin was the vocal soloist. Flowers were in charge of Clara Taylor and Laura Kehe. Casket bearers were six grandsons, Allan Culbert, Don Ochs, Gerald Bill, Michel, Patrick and Dennis Walsh. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. MRS WALSH WAS born August 24, 1881, the daughter of Frank and Mary Boerschel, and was christened Martha Edna. She attended schools in the area and was married to Jerome Walsh June4. 1903. They lived in the Nashua area all of their married life. Her husband was engaged in farming and dealing in livestock. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sone; one brother and one sister. She is survived by a son, Clark Walsh of Charles City; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.
