The deceased was born October 13, 1853 in Decatur County, Iowa, her age being 47 years and 3 months. The subject of this sketch was united in marriage to Jacob Butts, February 17, 1873. To them as parents, 12 children were born, six boys and six girls. Sister Butts made a profession of religion and united with the Bethel Baptist Church in October 1876, remaining a faithful, consistent member till called home to rest as above... The deceased was born October 13, 1853 in Decatur County, Iowa, her age being 47 years and 3 months. The subject of this sketch was united in marriage to Jacob Butts, February 17, 1873. To them as parents, 12 children were born, six boys and six girls. Sister Butts made a profession of religion and united with the Bethel Baptist Church in October 1876, remaining a faithful, consistent member till called home to rest as above stated. The funeral took place at the Bethel Church after which the remains were laid to rest near the church to await the resurrection of the just at the last day. The bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of a large circle of kind friends and relatives. Children listed from Census Records: Julia, Charles E., John Amos, Lee Roy, Ellen E., Lucy Ann, Bessie M., Infant Butts and two children of Jacob and Martha Daughter Julia Frances Butts was born May 12, 1886 in Eden Twp. Decatur County, Iowa. She married Henry Clay Moore the son of H. H. and Sarah E. McDaniel Moore in March 1908. Julia died August 24, 1979 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa at the home of her daughter Mildred Violet Moore-Reed-Smith. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. Julia had one other daughter Esther May Moore Wicker.
