A large number of sorrowing relatives were present to attend the last sad rites of a good life. Martha Evangeline Peet was born in Union township, Delaware county Iowa. February 18, 1853, and died in Zion City, Illinois, March 3, 1907, making her 54 years and 15 days old. She lived on the old home place about 90 rods north of the cemetery at Edgewood, Iowa, where both... A large number of sorrowing relatives were present to attend the last sad rites of a good life. Martha Evangeline Peet was born in Union township, Delaware county Iowa. February 18, 1853, and died in Zion City, Illinois, March 3, 1907, making her 54 years and 15 days old. She lived on the old home place about 90 rods north of the cemetery at Edgewood, Iowa, where both her parents lie buried and she was buried beside her mother on the same lot. When she was 25 years old she went to Delphos, Kansas, where she taught a few terms of district school then she went to the State Norman School at Emporia, Kansas. Afterward she taught in Salt Lake City, Utah, and at Edgewood, Iowa, where her health failed her and she quit teaching. About three years ago she attended the Feast of Tabernacles at Zion City, Ill., and she fell in love with the clean city and the clean and devoted lives so many of the people lived and the rich spiritual feasts which she so much enjoyed that she did not want to live any where else and has spent the most of the time since then in Zion City among the people she loved and where kind hearts and willing hands did so much for her during her last few months of life. - - Edgewood Journal Manchester Democrat, Manchester, Iowa March 13, 1907
