Description	:	Mrs. Martha Evelyn Howell Jones, age 96 of Dardanelles, AR died Saturday, October 2, 1999 at her home in Dardanelle. She was born July 15, 1903 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Haynes A. and Martha Garretson Howell. She was co-owner of Garret Jones Implement Company with her late husband, Garrett Jones. They were among the founders of the Bank of Dardanelle and she served as director and then honorary director until her death. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle, member of the United Methodist women, DAR, Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce, Dardanelle Business... Read More	Mrs. Martha Evelyn Howell Jones, age 96 of Dardanelles, AR died Saturday, October 2, 1999 at her home in Dardanelle. She was born July 15, 1903 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Haynes A. and Martha Garretson Howell. She was co-owner of Garret Jones Implement Company with her late husband, Garrett Jones. They were among the founders of the Bank of Dardanelle and she served as director and then honorary director until her death. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle, member of the United Methodist women, DAR, Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce, Dardanelle Business and Professional Women's Club and was voted Jaycette Woman of the Year in 1964. Survivors include five nephews, Judge William R. Bullock and A. B. Cox both of Dardanelle, AR, Thomas L. Bullock of Little Rock, AR, Robert Sly of Fayetteville, AR and David Howell of Okmulgee, OK; three nieces, Mary Croom Gordon of Fairfield Bay, AR, Virginia Sargent of Dallas, TX and Mary Gale Barnes of Houston, TX. Graveside services were held October 4, 1999 at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle with Lu Hardin officiating. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle, AR.
