She married William Orlando Moore 31 Oct 1894 in Floyd Co., Iowa and they lived in McHenry Co., North Dakota before coming to Montrose to be near his sisters Julia (Moore) Carsner, and Abbie (Moore) Butterfield. MOORE STRICKEN AT 7:30, DEAD IN 4 HOURS Friday evening Mrs. W. O. Moore of Uncompahgre, went out to the barnyard at 7:30 o’clock to milk one of the cows, and just as she commenced her task, she toppled over, being suddenly stricken with apoplexy of the brain. Four hours later she was dead. Friday Mrs. Moore attended a Sunday school picnic at Colona, and was apparently the best of health. When she went to assist with the evening chores, she seemed to be unusually well, having just completed a hearty supper. After being stricken, she was carried into the house and medical aid secured. Everything was done to save her life, but it seemed that nothing could aid her. She rallied after the attack and was conscious, but did not seem to realize that the end was near. At 11:30 she passed peacefully away. The funeral will be held at the Hawley chapel in this city Sunday morning at 11’ o’clock, and Rev. Louis Gale of Colona will conduct the services. Later the body will be laid to rest in the Olathe cemetery, beside the body of her son, who died some time ago. Mr. and Mrs.Moore came from North Dakota to Colorado, and have lived in this state three years. They lived for awhile in Olathe, and moved to the G. W. Clark place at Uncompaghre the first of last month. Mrs. Moore was a lady of high character, a devoted member of the M. E. church, and was a friend to all who knew her. She was forty-five years of age and had been married nearly nineteen years. Besides a loving husband, who is grief-stricken over his wife’s sudden death, two children, Glen, age 17, and Bernice, six, mourn the death of their mother, whose every thought was for home, husband and children. They have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in this sudden bereavement.
