She was received into the kingdom of God's grace by the sacrament of Baptism on Oct. 21 of the same year. She became a communicant member of Bethlehem Lutheran church by confirmation on April 12, 1905. She was received into the kingdom of God's grace by the sacrament of Baptism on Oct. 21 of the same year. She became a communicant member of Bethlehem Lutheran church by confirmation on April 12, 1905. On March 26, 1913, she was united in marriage with Henry Wacker at the Evangelical church south of Vesper. Their union was blessed with seven sons and five daughters, of whom one son and one daughter preceded their mother in death as infants. For the past 35 years, the family lived on a farm south of Vesper. Mrs. Wacker had been in failing health for a number of years. At the beginning of March she was taken to Larned for treatment, where she unexpectedly contracted the flu, which turned to pneumonia. She fell asleep in Jesus on Sunday, April 2, at the age of 55 years, 6 months and 27 days. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Henry Wacker; six sons, Lawrence of the home, Albert of Vesper, Kan., Leo of Medicine Lodge, Kan., Arnold of Lincoln, Kan., Marvin and Ralph; four daughters, Mrs. Delma Lewis of Medicine Lodge, Mrs. Esther White of Salem, Ore., Mrs. Hilda Prather of Tescott, Kan., and Ileen of Ellsworth, Kan.; also two brothers, Louis Serrien of Sylvan Grove and William Serrien of Lincoln; four sisters, Mrs. Amanda Reinert of Lincoln, Miss Frieda Serrien of Wichita Falls, Tex.; Mrs. Bertha Harms of Houston, Tex.; and Mrs. Linda Ahlbrand of Milwaukee, Wis.; six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held at Bethlehem Lutheran church, Sylvan Grove, Kan., on Thursday, April 6. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery at Sylvan Grove. Contributor: Ruth Ellen Bartels (47315485) •
