Description	:	Martha Larson, age 84, of the Arbor Spring Health Care Center in West Des Moines, and formerly of Boone, died December 14, 2015, at the Center. Martha H. Larson was born in Steamboat Rock, Iowa, on January 21, 1931, the daughter of John and Sarah Marie (Wolfe) Bleeker. She went to high school in Belmond and on December 25, 1947, Martha married Richard W. ‘Dick’ Larson in Iowa Falls. Read More	Martha Larson, age 84, of the Arbor Spring Health Care Center in West Des Moines, and formerly of Boone, died December 14, 2015, at the Center. Martha H. Larson was born in Steamboat Rock, Iowa, on January 21, 1931, the daughter of John and Sarah Marie (Wolfe) Bleeker. She went to high school in Belmond and on December 25, 1947, Martha married Richard W. ‘Dick’ Larson in Iowa Falls. She worked as a secretary and accountant for R W Larson Insurance Agency and designed the window displays at Holly’s in Boone. Martha later owned/operated the Country Gallery in Ames, a framing, matting, and sales of limited edition prints. Martha was an RSVP Quilting volunteer and was a member of the women’s league of the Boone Golf & Country Club and several bridge clubs. As a senior citizen, she attended photography and computer classes at DMACC in Boone. Martha enjoyed needlepoint, cross stitch, quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, golf, and flower gardening. She also enjoyed charcoal and oil painting. Martha also enjoyed old country western music and western movies, playing piano, and spending time with her grandchildren and passing her piano, sewing, and baking skills to them. She and her husband Dick, loved to travel in their RV. Martha was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dick in 1997. Following her wishes, she has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be Monday, December 28, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone with Rev. Dick Dahle officiating. Burial of her cremains will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. In memory of Martha, memorials may be directed to the Boone Area Humane Society.
