Description	:	Obituary- Mrs. John M. Mayer, of Moorland, Dies Mrs. John M. Mayer, 55, of Moorland died Friday night at Lutheran hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Mayer became ill early Friday evening and was brought to the Fort Dodge hospital for medical treatment at that time. Death came a few hours later. Funeral services are planned Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Congregational church in Moorland. The Rev. Robert Bond, pastor of the church, will officiate. Mayer, 55, of Moorland died Friday night at Lutheran hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Mayer became ill early Friday evening and was brought to the Fort Dodge hospital for medical treatment at that time. Death came a few hours later. Following the Moorland service the body will be taken to Council Bluffs, Mrs. Mayer's former home, where further rites will be held Monday afternoon. Burial will be in a Council Bluffs cemetery. Mrs. Mayer, the former Martha Hall, was born on June 14, 1898, in Lincoln, Neb. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hall. She attended the schools of Lincoln. Mr. Mayer is the Moorland agent for the Chicago Great Western and Minneapolis and St. Louis railroads. Surviving Mrs. Mayer besides her husband are three sons. They are Kenneth W. Mayer of Chicago, Ill., Clinton John Mayer of Greeley, Colo. and Duane J. Mayer of Fort Dodge. Six grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive her: Monty Hall of Eleajon, Calif., Charles Hall, Paul Hall and Mrs. Minnie Simon of Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. C.C. Russell of Council Bluffs, and Miss Ruth Hall of Denver, Colo. Her parents, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Mayer was a member of the First Congregational church of Moorland and of the Ladies' Aid society of that church. She also belonged to the Book club at Moorland. NOTE: Children listed are her step-children from her husband's first marriage. Martha never had any of her own.
