Description	:	From The Dalles Times-Mountaineer, The Dalles, Oregon, August 20, 1887, page 3 "Sudden Death" Mrs. Martha H. Lyle, aged about 54 years and wife of Mr. J.O. Lyle, of Lyle, W.T., about seven miles west of this city, was found dead in her bed on Friday morning of last week. She retired the evening before in her usual health, and during the night got up twice to attend to the wants of two little grandchildren. Lyle, of Lyle, W.T., about seven miles west of this city, was found dead in her bed on Friday morning of last week. In the morning her husband attempted to awaken her, and found her dead. The cause of death is supposed to have been heart disease or hemorrhage from a ruptured blood vessel. Mrs. Lyle was a sister of our fellow citizens, Messrs. B.E. and George Snipes and Mrs. James M. Smith. She leaves a family of three children, all grown, and parents living near Goldendale, W.T. She was buried from the family residence at Lyle last Monday, and the funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends from this city. Mrs. Lyle was a highly esteemed lady, and the community will deplore her sudden demise.
