She was married to Dr. Joseph Hammonds, Feburary 24,1884 in Kentucky. They moved to Texas in August. To this union seven children were born, five sons and two daughters, the oldest dying in infancy. The family moved to Kansas in the fall of 1905. Mrs. Hammonds united with the Christisn Church in 1891. She lived a christian life loved by all who knew her.... The family moved to Kansas in the fall of 1905. Mrs. Hammonds united with the Christisn Church in 1891. She lived a christian life loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her many kind deeds will long be remembered. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, six children, Mrs Dick McKinny of Anna, Texas; Hugh Lee Hammond of Denver, Colo.; Douglas, Charles and John Hammond and Mrs Jewell Umprenour of Walnut, a sister Mrs. W.S. Patterson of near Walnut, a Step-father J.F. Frizzell of Sanger, Texas, a half brother and sister, Lee Frizzell and Mrs Dock Smith of Wichita Falls, Texas, besides other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home Monday December 31, at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W.R. Roberts of the Christian Church. Interment was made in Walnut Cemetery. You will notice that the paper had her birth date on July 29, While the funeral records state July 17, as do other records. But. that is not unusal.
