Description	:	MARTHA J. TEXEL, 77, of Colorado Springs died Thursday at a local hospital. She was a retired caseworker for the county Department of Social Services. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St. The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada Ave., with the Rev. Mrs. Texel was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Pecatonica, Ill., to Leonard B. and Jennie (Bernard) Lake. She graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. Mrs. Texel lived in Colorado Springs for 23 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a volunteer for senior citizen activities. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Yankton. Mrs. Texel was married Nov. 22, 1937, in Yankton, to Eddie Texel, who died Jan. 13, 1967. She is survived by a son, Edward of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Karol McLean and Sylvia Meyer, both of Colorado Springs; a brother, Randy Lake of Auburn, Wash.; two sisters, Esther Houston of Eugene, Ore., and Ruth Ward of Sedro Wooley, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
