Hello Linda - The dod on this memorial is that of Janie's husband. She also died in Feb 1953 but on 2/22/1953. I found both Janie and Milton's death certificates and have followed them through census records. Both were born in Marlboro Co SC and both died at home in Hartsville, Darlington Co SC. The certs are in Ancestry but hers is wrongly transcribed as "Danie McDaniel Parrish" with dod 22 Mar 1953. I have submitted corrections to Ancestry advising that the date and name were misread. In the lower left corner of Janie's certificate is the date it was received for recording. That reads "Mar 9, 1953", which confirms the month of death as February. If you need copies, I can forward them to you. I am not directly related. Janie's husband Milton Luther Parrish Sr.'s brother John Alfred Parish married the sister Mary Magnolia Manning of my McLeod grandfather's 2nd wife.
