Description	:	Martha Lee Ballain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Lee Sr., was born at Dawson, Nebraska October 2, 1916. She received her education at the Honey Creek High School and attended college at the University of South Dakota. Following her college work she taught grade school music for about five years in Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Myron Ballain, July 25, 1942 at Dawson and to this union five children were born, Marlyn Dean, Myron Lee, Marcia Kay, Myrna Rae, and Martin Alonzo. She received her education at the Honey Creek High School and attended college at the University of South Dakota. Following her college work she taught grade school music for about five years in Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Myron Ballain, July 25, 1942 at Dawson and to this union five children were born, Marlyn Dean, Myron Lee, Marcia Kay, Myrna Rae, and Martin Alonzo. Mrs. Ballain became a Christian early in her youth and remained a faithful and devoted follower of her Lord. She was a consecrated woman and exemplified her devotion in service to the church wherever she made her home. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Griswold, having been director of two choirs for the past six months or more. She passed away June 10, 1952 after a brief illness of less than 24 hours at the Humboldt, Nebraska hospital. She is survived by her husband and five children, her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Free B. Lee of Dawson, Nebraska, eight brothers and one sister, Wayne Lee, Holton, Kansas, Mrs. Thelma Irwin, Salem, Nebraska, Rev. Carl Lee, Pawnee City, Nebraska, Fred Lee, Glendale, California, Rev. Samuel Lee, O'Neill, Nebraska, Dean Lee, Tucson, Arizona, Lynn Lee, Dawson, Nebraska. Besides these, many other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Ballain and her family moved to Griswold from Red Oak in September 1951 and immediately became active in the church and community life, giving of herself and talent to others she lives on in the memories of all who came in contact with her. In the words of the scripture; "Being dead yet speaketh." Funeral services were held at Griswold Saturday with burial in Emerson. Malvern Leader, June 19, 1952, page 9
