Mrs. Ferderer, a native of Odessa, died on Wednesday, May 14, 1997, at the Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital in Yakima. She was 79 years old. She had been a resident of Selah for the past seven years. She previously lived in Ritzville for more than 54 years. She was the daughter of Conrad J. Kissler and Anna Marie Eckhardt Kissler, and was born July 2, 1917, near Odessa. She grew up in Lincoln County and attended Odessa schools, graduating from Odessa High School in 1936. She married Leonard Ferderer on June 3, 1936. They moved to the Horak farm 10 miles north of Ritzville and lived there for 10 years. Then they moved to the Fisher farm six miles west of Ritzville, where they lived until 1974 when they moved into town at Ritzville. They farmed until 1980. Martha continued to live in Ritzville until 1989, when she moved to Selah to be closer to her daughter, Lynette Kramer. She was a member of the Philadelphia Congregational Church of Ritzville, and of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. Surviving are her daughter, Lynette Fay Kramer, of Selah; a son, Merrol Lynn Ferderer, of Cheney; 7 grandchildren…; 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Ferderer, in October 1979, and by four sisters. Pastor Pamela Smith and Pastor Earl Menchhofer officiated at the funeral. Concluding services and interment followed at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements." (Odessa Record: 1997) Thank you Marge Womach for this transcription.
