Description	:	Martha Langeland Olson was born near Decorah, Iowa, May 3, 1859. She was united in marriage to Mr. Aaron Olson, also of Deorah, May 3, 1883. Together they established their home on a farm near Decorah, where they spent nearly twenty years of their married life. From there they moved to South Dakota and bought a farm one mile north of Groton, where they have resided ever since. To this happy union was born seven children of whom three are dead. She was united in marriage to Mr. Aaron Olson, also of Deorah, May 3, 1883. Together they established their home on a farm near Decorah, where they spent nearly twenty years of their married life. From there they moved to South Dakota and bought a farm one mile north of Groton, where they have resided ever since. To this happy union was born seven children of whom three are dead. Those surviving are: Alfred K. Olson, Mrs. Knut Holum, Mathilda Olson and Mrs. Herman Julson. Besides her husband, Aaron Olson, she also leaves to mourn her departure two brothers, Helge Langeland of Madison, Ohio and Ole Langeland of Ada, Minn.; also one sister, Mrs. Rachel Batolfson of Mintur, Colorado. Mrs. Olson had not been in the best of health for the last few years, but was able to be about and assist with her work until a few weeks ago when she was suddenly taken sick, from the effects of which she did not recover. She died Monday, July 2, at the age of 64 years, 1 month and 29 days. Funeral services were held from the home Friday, July 6, at 1:30 p. m. and from the Evangelical church at 2:00 p. m. Rev. A. M. Egge, pastor of the Groton Scandinavian church officiated. Interment was in Groton union cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Mrs. Aaron Olson Dies On Monday Afternoon Mrs. Aaron Olson, wife of A. Olson, Groton dairyman, died at her home a mile north of Groton late Monday afternoon. Deceased had been ailing for the past three years. Mrs. Olson was born May 23, 1859, at Decorah, Iowa. She was married May 3, 1883 to Mr. Olson and seven children were born to this happy union. Three of the children are, two....... The deceased was baptized and confirmed in the Norwegian Lutheran church to which she was a life long member, a devoted and loyal church member and church goer. Of her it might be said a Mother of Israel is gone-a good and faithful wife, a Godfearing mother and Christian. She will be missed by all who knew her, bus especially by those who knew her best and to whom she was nearest and dearest. The Lord bless her memory. And like a bird that from the flowers, Wing weary seeks her wanted nest. My Spirit, e'en in manhood's hours, Turns back in childhood's home to rest. The cottage, garden, hill and stream, Still linger like a pleasant dream, And while to one engulfing grave, By times' swift tide we are driven, How sweet the thought that every wave But bears us nearer Heaven!
