Description	:	Martha Magdalene "Maggie" McHone Smith, 95, went home to be with her Lord Friday morning, February 25, 2022, at the home of her daughter. Maggie was born in Stokes County on September 11, 1926, to the late Manley McCray and Alma Yokely Wilson McHone. She was retired from Foremost Screen Print with many years of service. Maggie loved to farm and make homemade biscuits for everyone. Throughout her entire life, she was a mother to her children and grandchildren. Read More	Martha Magdalene "Maggie" McHone Smith, 95, went home to be with her Lord Friday morning, February 25, 2022, at the home of her daughter. Maggie was born in Stokes County on September 11, 1926, to the late Manley McCray and Alma Yokely Wilson McHone. She was retired from Foremost Screen Print with many years of service. Maggie loved to farm and make homemade biscuits for everyone. Throughout her entire life, she was a mother to her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Maggie is preceded in death by her husband, Silas Smith; three children, Curly Silas Smith, Doris Jackson, and Larry Wayne Smith, Sr.; three brothers, Sanders, Rufus, and Ellis McHone; five sisters, Nora Smith, Carrie Collins, Ella McHone, Mary Jane Loflin, Lolene Chambers; six grandsons, Greg, Todd, and Clint Smith, Randy and Carl Jackson and Jay King. Maggie is survived by seven children, Elaine Leonard (Keith), Dale Smith (Sherry), Gail Venable (Steve), Wade Smith, Rodney Smith, Donna Sharlene Smith, and Quint Smith; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; three sisters, Lillian Montgomery, Ola Newell, Lena Harrelson; and many nieces and nephews. There will be a 2:00 pm graveside service held on Monday, February 28, 2022, at Tilley Family Cemetery, 1160 Paradise Ridge Rd, Westfield, NC 27053 with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. There will be no formal visitation, however Mrs. Smith will lie-in-state from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Burroughs Funeral Home. Also, the family will receive friends following the graveside service. Memorials may be made to Burroughs Funeral Home: PO Box 471, Walnut Cove, NC 27052. Social distancing guidelines will apply, and facial coverings are required. Online condolences may be made at www.burroughsfuneralhome.com.
