Obituary The News (Frederick, MD) - March 9, 1988 Mrs Marie Jones Offutt, 92, died Tuesday March 8 at Colton Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown, where she had been a guest for the past nine years. She was the wife of the John B Offutt who predeceased her in March 1975. Born July 15, 1895, in Dickerson, she was the daughter of the late John Rufus and Adelia Heffner Jones. Mrs. Offutt was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are two daughters Mrs Marguerite C Moxley, Mt Airy, and Mrs Mary V Kuzas, Roanoke, Va.; four sons, Bernard L Offutt, of Woodsboro, W Jerome Offutt of Rockville, Linwood T Offutt of Frederick, and Eugene J Offutt of Walkersville; one sister-in-law Sister Sulpice of the Visitation Convent Wilmington, Del.; 39 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs Offutt was predeceased by a son, John B. Offutt, Jr. in 1982 and a daughter, Mrs Rosalie O. Mullineaux in 1983. Friends may call from 3-9 pm Thursday, March 10 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E Church St., Frederick and where the family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, March 11, from St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated by Msgr Edward V. Echle, pastor. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville, Montgomery County.
