Mrs. Wright lived in this community a good many years and many of her relatives still live here. The funeral was held at her home in Morning Sun. Those who attended from here were Mr. and Mrs. Guy Boggs and Mrs. Roy Ralston. Obituary Martha Mary Boggs, second child of James and Nancy Boggs, was born in Huntingdon county, Pennsylvania, on the first day of the year 1842 and departed this life on the morning of 23 June 1927, having attained the ripe old age of 85 years, 5 months and 22 days. When 12 years of age she came with her parents to what was then the far west and settled on a farm 10 miles north of Monmouth. Here she finished the country school, took two years of college after which she taught school until she was united in marriage to James B. Wright, and then made her home in Norwood until 1876, when she and her husband and daughters, now Mrs. S.A. Miller and Mamia Wright Thomas, now deceased, journeyed farther west, crossed the father of waters and settled on a farm 4 1/2 miles southwest of Morning Sun, Iowa, which place is still the homestead and upon which her son J. Edward Wright resides. Mr. Wright passed away on 6 March 1897. Mrs. Wright continued on the farm until 1921 when she moved to her daughters in Monroe City, Missouri. For the past two years she has lived with her daughters, Mrs. Able and Mrs. Sterret in Burlington, Iowa. She and her husband were members of the Presbyterian church in Monmoouth. Left to mourn her loss are three daughters, two sons, three sisters, one brother, ten grandchildren and a host of friends. She died at her daughters in Burlington, Iowa, she had lived there for several years, she had lived before that with a daughter in Monroe City, Missouri. Her son J. Edward Wright was still living on the home place. She had moved to Morning Sun in 1875 with her husband and made her home there until 1921. She was survived by two sons, three daughters, Mrs. Abel and Mrs. Sterrett and Mrs. S.A. Miller, her daughter Mamie Wright Thomas predeceased her. She was also survived by one brother. She was buried in Morning Sun." She married James Wright on 25 December 1865 in Warren county, Illinois.
