Description	:	Martha Richter, 86, of Hazen, ND died peacefully on April 15, 2015 at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Services will be held at 2:00 PM CDT on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanton with Pastor Dennis Ristvedt officiating. Burial will follow at the Stanton cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM before the service at the church. Martha was born on the home place south of Beulah, ND on September 13, 1928, the eighth of nine children born to John and Louisa (Weil) Miller. At age 14, she was baptized into Christ in the Knife River by the congregation of the Beulah Baptist Church. Martha was raised and educated south of Beulah. She met Orville Richter on a hot summer afternoon in 1944 while swimming with friends at the Beulah Park. In 1946, after Martha and Orville had been dating for two years, Martha and her family moved to Odessa, WA. Orville, of course, would not let it be. Orville made the trip to Washington and brought Martha back to Stanton where she lived with Orville’s parents until they married on August 22, 1948. Together, Martha and Orville raised their family in Stanton where they resided for 64 years. In 2013, they sold their home in Stanton and moved to Hazen, where Orville continues to reside. Martha was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanton where she loved participating in Ladies Aide, Sunday school, Bible Study and mission quilting. Martha is survived by her husband, Orville of Hazen; two daughters, Sharon Gore of Zimmerman, MN and Karen (DeLon) Bohrer of Hazen; two sons, Marvin (Irene) Richter of Hazen and Ronald (Vonette) Richter of Bismarck, ND; 11 grandchildren, Eric Richter, Kayla (Andrew) Duncan, Michelle (Russell) Kostreba, Amanda Gore (Jason Farris), Mark Richter (Mallory Warner-Richter), Andrew (Margaret) Richter, Jenna Richter, Alicia (Alex) Johnson, Adam Bohrer, and Angela (Justin) Prois; eight great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Aubree Richter, Alexa Kostreba, Jaxxon Farris, Mabel Warner-Richter, Nora Richter, Gabriel Richter, and Avery Johnson; one brother, Richard Miller of Spokane, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; five sisters; and her son-in-law, Ronald Gore. Barbot Funeral Home
