Description	:	Some sources believe that after the death of John D. Ritchey, Martha married Samuel McChesney. The Illinois Statewide Marriage Index does indeed show that a Mrs. Martha Ritchey and a Samuel McChesney obtained a marriage license in Henderson Co. on 8 Apr 1847 (Book A, p. 20). Our Martha, however, would have been in Iowa by 1840, and she is consistently shown on census records (1840-1880) as Martha Ritchey. Her gravestone in Forest Home Cemetery, Mt.
