She was the daughter of Orland and Maud Williams Eaton. Her death occurred at Omaha, Nebraska on February 28, 1978, following a lingering illness of several months at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 23 days of age. In 1920 she moved with her parents to a farm near Marquette, Nebraska. Here she attended the public schools and graduated from Marquette High School with the class of 1935. She then attended the University of Nebraska. Following her attendance at the University she taught the Cedar Valley School for three years. On August 18, 1940 she was united in marriage to Perry R. Grigsby at Marquette. They resided at Aledo and Milan, Illinois before coming to Aurora in 1944. Three children were born to bless their home. Her husband preceded her in death on April 11, 1966. Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Church since residing in Aurora. For years she had shared her talents as an artist by giving chalk talks to many groups over the country. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Florrence, Constance and Clarice Eaton and one grandson. Her survivors include one son, James of Aurora; two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Gallion of Deshler, Nebraska and Miss Dorothy Grigsby of Aurora; four grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Marie Douglas of Hastings.
